ARTIST BREAKDOWN

NEW SONG: "FREE" OUT 6/21

JACOB MCCASLIN LEADS AN ANTHEM FOR INTROVERTS IN QUARANTINE WITH HIS

Jacob McCaslin's new song, "FREE," takes listeners on an uplifting musical voyage, offering sparkly ear candy at every corner and a chorus that will lodge itself in your brain long after your first listen.

While on lock-down due to COVID-19, Jacob and his partner/co-writer Jenny Marie Mitchell realized that the challenges of quarantine may have created opportunities for growth — perhaps especially for so-called introverts and creatives like himself. With the line, “Look, Ma / I’m finally at the party / No invite,” Jacob acknowledges he’s in his element, while still yearning for his peers’ validation.

"FREE" explores a world in which everyone must find new ways to maintain their livelihood
.

A world where we have the freedom to peer inwards to harness our true potential.  Rather than dwelling on politics, Jacob’s cynical tone throughout the song ("If something was gonna kill me / I think normal might") begs the question, is anyone truly free in our current paradigm?
